When Failure Becomes a Crowd-Puller

Failure has rarely been so entertaining and valuable at the same time: With around 60 participants, the event “Shit Happens! Career Fails from Mainfranken” at the T3 Business Terminal in Sennfeld became a real crowd-puller. After its successful launch last autumn, the unusual format perfectly captured the zeitgeist. Together with the “Gründen in Mainfranken” network, represented by the Schweinfurt representatives of Startbahn27, the Regional Management of Region Mainfranken GmbH thus sent a strong signal for an open approach to professional setbacks.

Stage Clear for Mistakes No One Else Shows

Instead of classic success stories, the focus was deliberately on “fails”: entrepreneurs, specialists, and personalities from the region shared their biggest professional missteps – honestly, accessibly, and often with a twinkle in their eye. The result: an evening full of ‘aha’ moments, laughter, and genuine insights.

The mix of authentic stories, a relaxed atmosphere, and intensive exchange made the event a special experience. Many participants took the opportunity to network further afterwards and discuss their own experiences.

Courage Trumps Perfection

“The courage to be open made this evening special. The response shows: formats like this are needed to enable new perspectives on careers,” says project manager Anne Pfrenzinger from Region Mainfranken GmbH. “We want to show that detours are often the key to development – and that it’s okay to talk about them.”
