The Quiet Center of Europe (Is Not So Quiet)

Here you’ll find a great concentration of knowledge and an even greater concentration of specialists, particularly engineers. This is also appreciated by the many significant companies located here. The best part is: no traffic stress, plenty of parking spaces, low rents, and property prices. Add to that nature parks and recreational areas everywhere; all of this is called ‘the quiet center of Europe’. A hidden gem, so to speak; if a high standard of living at moderate costs is important to you, you’re in exactly the right place. And as for the dialect, you’ll get the hang of it too.

Weinfurt or Schweinfurt

The German poet Friedrich Rückert commented on the name of his birthplace:
‘You could have been called Mainfurt, could have been called Weinfurt, because you carry wine, but Schweinfurt, Schweinfurt it should be.’

# This is What Linguistics Says About the Schweinfurt Dialect:

…besides being notably robust, the dialect has a peculiarity in plural formation. For example, small houses are called ‘Häusli’ or even ‘Häuslich’. This is why the dialect is not referred to as Franconian or Meefränggisch, but as Schweinfurterisch.
