Würzburger Versorgungs- Und Verkehrs-GmbH

The WVV is well-known – especially if you’re from Würzburg. But even if our name is familiar to many, few know what truly lies within us. Those who primarily think of buses and trams only see a fraction of what we do every day. We supply Würzburg with electricity, gas, water, and heating, and we manage mobility and parking, street lighting, telecommunications, leisure activities, and much more. As a municipal “utility provider”, we ensure that living, working, and arriving in Würzburg runs smoothly. To ensure this continues in the future, we are looking for dedicated colleagues to strengthen our team.

“The best thing about my job as an electrician in building services is that it never gets boring: It’s rare for one day to be like the next. It’s precisely this variety that makes me happy and that I specifically sought out. I’ll be honest: I wasn’t always with WVV, but I’m pretty sure I’ll retire from here!”

One Employer, Many Opportunities

With around 1,850 employees, we are not only one of the largest, but also one of the most versatile employers in the region. Whether you prefer working with tools, a keyboard, or in direct customer dialogue – we offer exciting tasks in various areas: from technology to administration, from IT to customer service, from energy supply to public transport.

In our teams, diverse backgrounds, qualifications, and talents come together. What unites us all is the ambition and joy of actively shaping the Würzburg region. Whether it’s traffic light control, heat network planning, or customer service: every job at WVV makes an important contribution to the bigger picture and makes a difference. And because our tasks are constantly growing, so are the prospects for everyone who wants to take on responsibility with us.

“As a Control Center Clerk, I help with technical questions, coordinate operations, and ensure smooth processes – both for our customers and within our team. What I appreciate most is that my daily work is routine but never monotonous. New tasks, systems, and innovations bring dynamism and allow me to constantly learn something new.”

Strong Team, Strong Togetherness

From career changers to apprenticeships or dual study programs to specialist careers: many paths lead to a professional life at WVV. It’s not uncommon for employees to stay with us for 20, 30, or even 40 years – from apprentice to retirement, so to speak. We are convinced that this is primarily due to our special working atmosphere, which is based on mutual respect and a strong sense of community, regardless of age, department, or title. Every voice counts, whether in the open-plan office, at the construction yard, or at the conference table. A comprehensive package of benefits completes this togetherness and clearly shows how important the recognition and appreciation of our employees are to us.

“My apprenticeship in dialogue marketing at WVV is above all one thing: very communicative! That means a lot of talking, but also just as much attentive listening. What I like most is that I have two different workplaces: In the office, I talk to our customers on the phone, and in the customer center, I meet them in person. It’s precisely this mix that makes the apprenticeship exciting and versatile for me.”

Apprentice for Dialogue Marketing

Settle In. Feel at Home. Advance.

Anyone starting their journey at WVV is not only warmly welcomed – for example, at our Welcome Days – but also excellently equipped: with modern devices, ergonomic workstations, and flexible working time models. Where possible, mobile working is now also part of everyday life. In addition, there are 30+2 vacation days, company supplementary health insurance, events like our summer festival or health days, JobRad leasing, a subsidy for public transport, and much more. Our company sports club with over ten disciplines also adds activity to our community and after-work hours. Apprentices and dual students can look forward to special extras such as a free Deutschlandticket or the assumption of tuition fees. Our own training workshop is located directly at Würzburg train station, making it ideally accessible – even without expensive parking fees, as free parking spaces are available to our employees at many locations. With eleven different apprenticeship professions, there should be something for almost everyone. And because learning never stops, we ensure that our employees can develop professionally and personally throughout their time with us, for example, with our WVV-internal eAcademy.

Responsibility for the Region – For Over 60 Years

Since our founding in 1965, we have been closely connected to Würzburg – as a utility provider, shaper, and part of the city. We live this connection not only in our daily work but also beyond: through events like the WVV Marathon, fundraising campaigns, sponsoring local clubs, or promoting environmental projects. We get involved where support is needed. In doing so, we think not only of today but also of what lies ahead. Sustainability and transformation are not just buzzwords for us, but lived practice. Whether it’s the energy, heating, or mobility transition – we think ahead and often act before political requirements demand it. Because we don’t just want to react, but to continue actively shaping the future of the Würzburg region. True to our motto “Supply Meets Future”!

WVV Energie Firmenlauf
