At Wölfel, we have been ensuring that our customers can sleep peacefully, glide while driving a car as if on rails, or enjoy the perfect sound experience in a concert hall for over 45 years. Vibrations, structural mechanics, and acoustics – this is Wölfel’s world. We are experts in this world; it is our home. There is plenty of work because vibrations surround us everywhere and at all times. That’s why there are just as many problems for which we need to find adequate solutions. Whether as engineering services, equipment, or software – there is a specific Wölfel answer to almost every vibration question.

There aren’t many engineers who deal with vibrations. But these are precisely the specialists we are looking for. With us, you will find a diverse workplace that requires special skills and promotes creative work.
Each year, we are involved in more than 1,000 projects that couldn’t be more different. The exciting part is that there isn’t just one solution path, and often the idea for the solution emerges during conversations with colleagues from completely different disciplines. It’s not without reason that we welcome employees who think outside the box and enjoy working in teams. Your knowledge is our capital, so we should use it in many ways. For example, earthquake engineering, originally relevant in nuclear technology, now provides valuable impulses in petrochemistry.
Professionally, we are maximally focused. However, when it comes to business fields, we are extremely broad-based – and thus independent of the economic situation of individual industries. Our group of companies offers solutions in wind turbine construction, structural dynamics problems, environmental and emission protection, automotive engineering, plant engineering and power plant technology, as well as mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. We are constantly expanding this successful diversification through technology transfer and a multitude of cooperations. We operate at the upper end of the complexity scale. What we do are not standard simulations that every engineer masters today, but high-end projects. Often this is highly mathematical and abstract. Our task is to bridge the gap between theoretical calculation and practical application.
Technology and Innovation by Tradition
Our solutions can be found all over the world. We have branches in Hamburg and Berlin, two sister companies, and stakes in two other firms. Nevertheless, our group of companies, which generates a turnover of 20 million euros with a 10 percent share from abroad, has maintained a personal and regionally anchored presence.
Wölfel is proud to be a technology and market leader in various fields and industries – and to remain so. A long-standing research and development quota of 15 percent underscores the high importance of our innovative spirit. This also aligns with the goals of the company founder Prof. Dr.-Ing. Horst Peter Wölfel. He founded the company in 1971 in Höchberg, quite classically in his living room. The company’s goal in the early years was to be a mediator between university research and industrial application. This position between theory and practice is still characteristic of our company today. Today, we are among the leading engineering companies in Europe in our field.
At the beginning, there was one employee; today there are over 100, deployed in interdisciplinary teams. When walking around the company premises, it’s always noticeable that employees from all over the world work with us, for example from India, the USA, Chile, Colombia, or Taiwan. Many of them took the leap directly from university to us – and often remain connected to us throughout their working lives. Almost all of them stay with us because they find an environment here that motivates them and gives them room to develop their skills. And it’s located in Mainfranken, in a region worth living in, where they feel comfortable.

Unser Unternehmensgelände liegt in Höchberg, am Stadtrand von Würzburg, direkt in der Natur. Es bietet unseren Mitarbeitern nicht nur eine schöne Aussicht, sondern lockt auch zahlreiche tierische Gäste an, so zum Beispiel Hausschildkröte „Rambo“, die sich in unserem grünen Park ebenso wohl fühlt wie unsere Mitarbeiter.

Deswegen beteiligen wir uns jedes Jahr an zahlreichen sportlichen Veranstaltungen wie dem Würzburger Firmenlauf WUE2RUN, wo wir gemeinsam darum kämpfen, den ersten Platz zu erreichen. So bleiben wir auch als Marktführer unserer Konkurrenz immer einen Schritt voraus.
