The Blindeninstitut Würzburg creates flexible and contemporary services for people with visual (and hearing) impairments, (deaf-)blindness, and additional support needs, thus enabling individual development opportunities.
From birth to old age, clients receive tailored support and guidance to help them unfold their potential.
The Blindeninstitut aims to be a pioneer for these people and their relatives in achieving the greatest possible participation in society.
Under the umbrella of the Blindeninstitutsstiftung, the Blindeninstitut Würzburg is the largest of the five institutes in Bavaria and Southern Thuringia.
Diversity in All Areas
Daily life at the institute is shaped by over 1,000 employees in various areas: early intervention, school, day care, residential care, support center, workshop, and complementary specialist services work closely together.
The comprehensive pedagogical, therapeutic, and medical expertise in the areas of vision, communication, and multiple disabilities can also be accessed through counseling centers.
A dedicated medical specialty center for adults with complex disabilities (MZEB) supports clients in healthcare.
