The National Winners of the 2025 Anniversary Final of ‘Jugend Forscht’ Have been Announced

Last weekend, the national final of the 60th ‘Jugend forscht’ competition was held in Hamburg. A total of 167 young talents presented 112 groundbreaking research projects. The final was organized by the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg as the national sponsoring institution and the Jugend forscht e. V. Foundation. The premium sponsor of the award ceremony is Lufthansa Technik AG.

Among the awarded projects are also impressive projects from Lower Franconia.

Elisabeth Fischermann (17) and Tom Kreßbach (17) from Julius-Echter-Gymnasium Elsenfeld took first place in the field of chemistry. The two developed an edible battery in tablet form using non-toxic chemicals. Their battery does not need to be charged separately before use and can serve as an energy source for medical imaging of the stomach and intestines in the future.

Vincent Weigl from Kronberg-Gymnasium Aschaffenburg took third place in the technology category with his project “Climbing like Spider-Man – Is it Really Possible?”. Vincent wondered if ordinary people could climb like “Spider-Man”. To find out, he constructed a special suit.

In the field of work environment, Clara Hoppach from Riemenschneider-Gymnasium in Würzburg also won third place with her project “Solar Bike for the School Route 3.0”. Clara Hoppach developed a solar bicycle basket that optimally utilizes sunlight both when empty and full.
