
Career Meetup Mainfranken: THWS and Region Mainfranken GmbH Connect Talents and Business
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the Career Meetup Mainfranken took place in Schweinfurt. The event is a collaborative effort between the Career Service of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) and Region Mainfranken GmbH. It primarily aims to bring together students, companies, and universities to open up new career perspectives. In addition to networking activities, the event offered an exciting program with presentations and faculty introductions from the university.
Bettina Gardenne, Managing Director of Region Mainfranken GmbH, and Prof. Dr. Jan Schmitt, Vice President of THWS, opened the event and emphasized the importance of the meetup for securing skilled professionals in the region. “We want to bring students and companies together to promote exchange and retain tomorrow’s talents in our region,” said Gardenne.
The first item on the agenda focused on “Recruiting the Generation Z”. The social media agency Younet from Haßfurt demonstrated, using successful campaigns, how to secure skilled professionals on TikTok and Instagram. Prof. Dr. Ing. Ralf Christel presented the advantages of dual studies at THWS, followed by presentations of the different faculties by professors. Various degree programs were introduced, including Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Natural Sciences and Humanities, as well as Mechanical Engineering. The aim was to identify and utilize cooperation opportunities between research and businesses.
The event concluded with an open networking session, offering students the opportunity to directly connect with companies and discuss internships and job opportunities.
