City of Würzburg

Live More Comfortably

When the vineyards begin right behind your house, when you live in the middle of the city and can be in nature within 5 minutes, when you can get to work in no time because all routes are short here, when there’s always a cozy wine festival happening somewhere, when you can shop in charming little streets and boutiques, and through all of this the weather is quite often quite good, then you’re in Würzburg. How lucky you are.

Population: 131,759

Wine, Science, and Culture

The city often revolves around these three themes. No wonder, when you’re constantly in the middle of a wine region, a large university is part of the city, and there are festivals like the Mozart Festival, the Africa Festival, or the International Film Weekend.

#Main

Swimming in the Main – it’s possible. The water quality is good and it’s reasonably warm in summer. You can find nice meadows for sunbathing, for example in Zellerau and Sanderau; you can reach the water via small steps on the riverbank. If you prefer to look at the river rather than swim in it, make yourself comfortable in a deck chair at the city beach near the Lion Bridge.
