The Lohr District Hospital, as a clinic for psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatic medicine with approximately 1300 employees, is the second largest employer in the mid-sized center of Lohr a.Main and one of the largest psychiatric clinics in Germany.
Specialized Hospital with Maximum Care
The specialized hospital with maximum care has 295 beds, a forensic area with 161 beds, 2 day clinics with 27 places in Lohr and 35 places in Aschaffenburg. Additionally, it has psychiatric institute outpatient clinics and a forensic outpatient clinic, as well as the newly built psychiatric clinic in Aschaffenburg with 50 beds since 2022. Currently, a new geriatric psychiatry unit with about 100 beds is under construction.
The catchment area is western Lower Franconia, including the city and district of Würzburg, the city and district of Aschaffenburg, as well as the districts of Main-Spessart and Miltenberg.
Annually, over 20,000 patients with mental health issues or addiction disorders are treated as inpatients and day patients across the 25 wards.
