The Kitzinger Land Hospital (formerly: Kitzingen District Hospital) is the largest facility for inpatient and outpatient treatments in the Kitzingen district with 205 planned beds. More than 15,000 patients are cared for there annually as inpatients. In addition, over 5,000 outpatient emergencies also need to be treated. Together, more than 600 employees take care of the patients’ well-being.

Range of Services

With a total of seven medical departments and additional therapeutic areas, the Kitzinger Land Hospital offers a wide range of medical services. Treatments are carried out at the highest professional level and with state-of-the-art medical technology. To ensure the high quality standard in the future, the hospital is currently undergoing extensive modernization and structural expansion.

Structurally, the Kitzinger Land Hospital is divided into many sub-areas. The center is the hospital located in the large district town of Kitzingen – with the departments of General, Vascular and Visceral Surgery, Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Gastroenterology, Oncology and Diabetology, Otolaryngology, Cardiology and Hypertensiology, Trauma Surgery, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, and the Central Emergency Department (ZNA).

In the area of outpatient care, the hospital works closely with the Medical Care Center. This is also located on the hospital grounds and operates on the principle of a private medical practice.

Since 2007, the Kitzinger Land Hospital has been supported by the Kitzingen district as a municipal enterprise and is one of the facilities for basic and standard care.

Further Training in Network, Further Training Authorizations

The Kitzinger Land Hospital has joined forces with thirteen medical and specialist practices established in the Kitzinger Land health region to form a so-called further training network. This offers the hospital’s employees the opportunity to gain further experience in practices within the framework of general medicine and to further train in a wide variety of specialist areas.

At the hospital itself, a total of six chief physicians have further training authorizations in various medical fields.
