Innovation from Tradition

We have always stood for technical innovation and flexibility characteristic of medium-sized businesses. The foundation for this was laid by company founder Jakob Preh when he recognized the signs of the times in 1919 and initially started as a device and component manufacturer for the rising radio industry. With the same foresight, his successors later seized the promising opportunities in the automotive market, and we developed into a global player for automotive electronics.

Indispensable

Whether on the steering wheel or dashboard – wherever buttons, rotary knobs, and more recently, touchscreens are operated, our Preh products have become indispensable in today’s cars. Renowned manufacturers such as BMW, Daimler, Ford, GM, Porsche, or VW trust in our innovative solutions. Transforming mobile and technological trends into clever products – is a challenge we at Preh gladly accept. For example, it is important to design the operation in the cockpit to be so intuitive that drivers are distracted as little as possible. Another major topic is e-mobility and, associated with it, the range of electric vehicles, which can be optimized with effective battery management.

When Employees Become ‘Preh-lers’

Despite the internationality, you can still clearly feel the roots of our company: The family atmosphere is just as typical as the fair interaction. It’s no coincidence that many who have completed their training with us stay with the company for decades and proudly call themselves ‘Preh’lers’.

The high level of commitment is also evident in the fact that many of us volunteer in the company, such as in the company orchestra. This not only ensures a good mood at company celebrations and official events but is also one of the oldest company orchestras in Germany, with over 80 years of history.

The Future Needs Heritage

The past and the present have always occupied us; however, the strongest driving force has always been the look into the future – once laid in the cradle by Jakob Preh. Therefore, expansion measures are just as natural as investments in our employees. For example, our apprentices are not only professionally trained but also personally developed; particularly diligent ones also get the chance to work on projects at an international location. This way, the next generation is prepared early on for the challenges of everyday professional life.

We are currently just as intensively involved in the field of electric mobility, delivering the battery management system for complex battery systems in modern electric cars like the BMW i3 or BMW i8 – a still young field that will certainly grow rapidly in the coming years. From our company history, it’s clear that we are already on the ball, because: Constantly reinventing ourselves while staying true to our roots – that’s our way.

Azubicamp

Damit der Einstieg ins Berufsleben so einfach wie möglich fällt, verbringen unsere neuen Preh-Azubis und dualen Studenten jedes Jahr die ersten Tage gemeinsam abseits vom Werksgelände. Bei diversen Indoor- und Outdoor-Aktivitäten wird der Teamgeist gestärkt und ein Wir-Gefühl entwickelt. Außerdem werden Schlüsselkompetenzen wie Zuverlässigkeit und Einsatzbereitschaft, aber auch Kommunikations-, Kritik- und Konfliktfähigkeit in dem mehrtägigen Programm vermittelt. Der Spaß steht dabei im Vordergrund.

Werkorchester

In ihrer Freizeit musizieren zahlreiche unserer Preh‘ler gemeinsam im Werkorchester. Und das so gut, dass sie längst als Botschafter des Unternehmens gelten: Die 1934 gegründete Blaskapelle ist eines der ältesten Werkorchester in ganz Deutschland und Stimmungsgarant auf jeder Betriebsveranstaltung!
