1) Veitshöchheim Palace

Veitshöchheim Palace is the former summer residence of the Würzburg Prince-Bishops and, with its magnificent Rococo Garden, is one of Europe’s most significant garden complexes. All rooms on the upper floor have been furnished as historical showrooms, making the palace accessible to the public as a museum. On the ground floor, the permanent exhibition “People from Würzburg and strangers always come here…” provides information about the history of the court garden.

2) Lohr Castle

The Lohr Castle (also known as Kurmainz Castle) is a listed medieval castle complex on the edge of Lohr am Main’s old town and is consideredone of the town’s most striking landmarks.Today, the castle houses theSpessart Museum and is closely linked to thehistory of the region as well as the legendof Snow White.

3) Grumbach Castle

Grumbach Castle is a significant Renaissance palace in the heart of Rimpar and was the seat of the Lords of Grumbach for centuries. Today, the historic complex houses a museum and is a cultural center as well as a defining landmark of the town and the region.

4) Werneck Palace

Werneck Palace is one of the most significant Baroque secular works by master builder Balthasar Neumann and was built in the 18th century as a residence for the Würzburg Prince-Bishop Friedrich Karl von Schönborn. Today, it houses medical facilities and is not publicly accessible itself. However, visitors can explore the palace park, the palace church, and Café Balthasar.

5) Würzburg Residence and Marienberg Fortress

In the heart of Würzburg lies the Residence, with its artfully designed court garden and Residence Square, inviting exploration. Another highlight is the Marienberg Fortress, perched high above the vineyards, offering a fantastic view over the entire city.
